Below are various topics and pages about motorcycles and riding them. I am not affiliated with ANY products or sites on these pages, just found the information helpful and hope you do too.

Why I ride

Riding a motorcycle has been a dream for a very long time, but "stuff" got in the way.

In the last few years the time and resources for me to ride a motorcycle became available, I have been riding since 2013. Previous experience driving a car was key to give me a better sense of when other drivers were going to perform erratic maneuvers, so riding later in life has its advantages. I also have the resources to invest in REALLY good equipment. I ride year round, except when there is ice on the road. I ride both to maintain my skills and to visually remind cagers what motorcycles look like. ATGATT - All The Gear All The Time, whether it is 35 DegF or 95 DegF.

While riding was an interest before I started to ride, it wasn't until after I started riding that I learned how satisfying it became. It is my Zen. I feel it in the center of my being. When you ride it is just you, the motorcycle and the wind. You ARE part of the environment, not just watching from the great glass TV screen.

Riding a motorcycle requires consideration, practice and a certain amount of risk tolerance.

Finally, one aspect that I really enjoy is going for a ride, stopping somewhere and enjoing the company of people that I otherwise would never have talked to. Many times a complete stranger has walked up to me and started talking about the bike that I am riding, how they like it or how they had one just like ot. Memories of when they rode a bike. I have learned so much about motorcycles from just such conversations.
